I am a table with Leiden on it. Twenty-four of the city's thirty-eight standpoints stand around the ring — a mosque, a tea house, a printing works, a courtyard — and the ring is drawn in the city's own order, so neighbours on the board are neighbours in Leiden. Roll, walk, and buy what you land on. Hold both places of a neighbourhood and the rent doubles; add a floor and it goes up again. Twelve rounds, and the richest wins. You can pass the phone around the table, or play against the others from this household: Kaasman buys everything he lands on, Haast is in a hurry and never builds, Location collects whole neighbourhoods. Nobody is ever knocked out — if the money runs short, a place goes to whoever you owe, only as much as the debt, and you keep playing.
